Jaime Kuczkowski

Jaime is a certified public accountant and brings more than 15 years of accounting and business operations experience to Balance from a diverse background in corporate, government, medical, hospitality and education sectors – ensuring that our clients stay in the lead.   As a Partner since inception and the firm’s accounting guru, Jaime provides oversight for Balance’s most complex non-profits and businesses.

Prior positions include Controller with an investment advisory firm, Accounting Manager at a leading national public affairs firm, Accountant & Grants Manager at a venture engineering firm and Site Supervisor in managing a busy medical practice. Jaime has in-depth experience managing all aspects of the financial cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable, receivable, payroll and client billing including a specialization in cost accounting and project tracking. She has managed multiple federal grant contracts (from proposal to final report) drafted indirect cost rate proposals, and managed Medi-Cal billings and insurance reimbursement, while meeting Federal and State audit requirements and providing the structure for OMB-level reporting.  Jaime’s focus for Balance clients includes assessing financial operations in order to increase effectiveness and efficiency, reviewing internal controls and implementing  various software systems, OMB accounting and reporting for nonprofits, meeting compliance requirements and integrating indirect cost structuring. Additionally, Jaime reviews budgeting processes and makes recommendations on budgeting tools, performs financial reorganizations and creates custom reports and presentations. She is the main contact for audit and tax schedule preparation at Balance. Jaime also participates in a variety of Balance’s internal operations including business development efforts, human resource functions and financial operations monitoring. Denys Pereira

Denys has an impressive breadth of experience managing financial processes and internal controls for businesses of all shapes and sizes and non-profit organizations – including hedge funds, import & export companies, oil & gas companies and partnerships, investment management companies, restaurants and private schools. Since joining Balance, Denys has been responsible for public company financial reporting, including 10K and 10Q SEC reporting, and working with PCAOB audit firms. He was previously a Financial Analyst for a multi-billion dollar publicly traded bank where he managed risk analytics and coordinated internal controls as part of the organization’s program for compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Denys also worked as the Portfolio Accounting Manager for a $7 billion investment management firm. Prior experience includes over 7 years within the food and beverage industry, restaurant and real estate management. He obtained his B.S. Degree in Business Economics with an Accounting emphasis from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
